Electro-Harmonix announced the release of the SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine pedal today, along with a solid overview video showcasing its features. The SYNTH9 is the latest in the company’s 9 family of pedals that emulate everything from classic electric pianos to organs to the tones of the Mellotron.
The SYNTH9 features 9 presets, emulating classic synths from Oberheim, Moog, Sequential Circuits and more. Even EHX’s own Mini Synth is represented. With a dry mix control, you can dial in just a touch of ethereal ambience to go on top of your acoustic guitar, or create a fat, fully synthesized bass groove on the fly! Each of the two CTRL knobs adjust different parameters depending on which synth model you’re playing. Electro-Harmonix has been on a tear lately, releasing several new pedals, some of which have shown up post-NAMM. The SYNTH9 comes hot on the heels of their new Canyon Delay, as well as new pedals we checked out at NAMM like the Operation Overlord Allied Overdrive and Blurst, and Wailer Wah.
