If the recent announcement of the Moog Matriarch wasn’t enough, the opening day of Superbooth in Berlin has seen a slew of synth announcements from major brands like Korg, Novation, Elektron and IK Multimedia.
We’re bringing you the rundown on some of the biggest releases, so read below to get caught up. And best of all, each of these synths are available now on zZounds for pre-order!
Korg Minilogue XD Desktop Module
The Minilogue XD is now available in desktop form! Featuring the same polyphonic analog goodness as the original, this module adds poly-chain functionality, letting you link it up with another Minilogue XD keyboard synth or module to create a powerful 8-voice polysynth rig.
Korg Volca NuBass
The latest in Korg’s venerable Volca line, the Volca NuBass takes the acid-soaked bass sounds of the TB-303 and squishes them into a pocket-sized synth. They’ve also added some proprietary NuTube technology to give it added girth, warmth and distorted grit.
Novation Summit
Did Novation Peak too early? The Summit takes that powerful synth higher still with 16 voices, and more control — many of the Peak’s “secret menu” options are now visible right on the Summit’s face. Of course, the newly added five-octave keyboard, pitch and mod wheels make performing on the Summit an entirely fresh experience.
Like the Peak, the Summit is powered by three Oxford oscillators, and utilizes analog filters, VCAs and distortion for authentic sound.
Elektron Digitone Keys
Elektron’s latest release takes their powerful Digitone FM synthesizer, and adds 37 velocity- and pressure-sensitive keys, 8 new assignable knobs, pitch and mod wheels, to open up another world of performance possibilities. Individual outputs for each track give you more flexibility when processing than ever before.
IK Multimedia UNO Drum
New from IK Multimedia, the UNO Drum joins the UNO Synth to form a formidable duo. The UNO Drum combines true analog and PCM sounds for an endless array of tones. Play on 12 touch-sensitive pads, or get crazy on the 64-step sequencer. You can choose from 100 patterns and 100 drum kit sounds, and add in stutter, random and roll performance effects for even more variety.
