This year, Gibson chose to showcase their wares at the Consumer Electronics Show rather than at NAMM, and like at last year’s show, there’s buzz surrounding their Modern Double Cut model — this time with a semi-hollow body. Like the original Modern Double Cut, this model is made by the Gibson Custom Shop and costs the same, according to Gibson’s Facebook post. With its semi-hollow construction, the guitar figures to be a more aerodynamic version of the original model and boasts the same Apex headstock design and 24-fret fretboard. The guitar comes in four pearlescent finishes: white, gray, blue and pink.
In addition to that, there’s a new V-shaped model the Custom Shop teased in this Instagram post. There’s not a name out yet or specs, but it reminds us a bit of the Star Trek Starfleet insignia:
