Nicholas

Nick started playing guitar in 2004 and stepped in as a drummer for his band shortly thereafter. Nick honed his performance and production skills with his projects released on labels like Deathwish Inc., Flesh & Bone, Save Your Generation, and more. At zZounds, Nick handles all Bass, Drums, and Effects Pedals marketing, and he's a huge fan of Fender Telecasters, fuzz pedals, his Marshall JTM 45, and DW Drums. Other loves are Formula 1, house cats, and Michigan history facts.

I need to be honest: this demo was frustrating to watch. The initial tone was so weak that none of the pedals ever had a fair chance to be heard properly.

Each pedal was also shown with only one unexplained setting. Without context or range, the demo failed to show what the pedals can actually do. That’s not just unhelpful—it risks misleading younger players into thinking this is how these tools are meant to sound or be used.

This isn’t about being harsh for the sake of it. It’s about standards. If you’re going to put out a video under your name, it should reflect real knowledge of the gear and the responsibility that comes with teaching others. I would strongly suggest that someone higher up reviews this approach and sets a better example.

Take the time to learn the nuances of the equipment. It takes years, yes, but that’s the difference between just making noise and actually demonstrating value.
