zZounds Live: Travel Through Time and Space with the Boss RE-202 Space Echo

Introduced in 1974, the Roland RE-201 Space Echo stands among the most legendary and sought-after effect units ever produced. The Boss RE-202 faithfully delivers the authentic sound and behavior of the Space Echo like never before with modern amenities and vintage-voiced tones. Roland/Boss engineers have tirelessly reproduced the same non-linear behaviors that original tape echoes produced, with the power and consistency of a CPU-based machine.

Watch Justin take the Boss RE-202 through space and time, pushing it to the limit! Check out the livestream and see for yourself why you need this modern classic on your pedalboard.

Nick started playing guitar in 2004 and stepped in as a drummer for his band shortly thereafter. Nick honed his performance and production skills with his projects released on labels like Deathwish Inc., Flesh & Bone, Save Your Generation, and more. At zZounds, Nick handles all Bass, Drums, and Effects Pedals marketing, and he's a huge fan of Fender Telecasters, fuzz pedals, his Marshall JTM 45, and DW Drums. Other loves are Formula 1, house cats, and Michigan history facts.

I always wondered why the RE-20 didn’t have the four presets of my DD-20, the one reason I never got one. This does, but at twice the price. At over $400 and only one sound I’d expect as many presets as the DD-500. It also puzzles as to why the old Space Echo chorus appears to have been erased from history. It was the cherry on top of the only real Space Echo I ever tried. Thanks, but for this price I’ll go with the 500.
