In this edition of zZounds Live, Justin shows that the Mesa/Boogie Badlander 50 is no one-trick pony.
With three gain modes, two identical channels, and the ability to run in 50 or 20 watts, the Mesa/Boogie Badlander 50 is one versatile beast. Is that not enough? Well, this amp also has a headphone output and Mesa’s CabClone IR Cab Simulator. With eight Mesa cabinet IRs and USB connection for IR transfers, this amp is a modern piece of kit. If you’re not looking to wake up the neighbors in the wee small hours of the morning, there is even an internal amp load where you don’t need to use the speaker.
If you’re heart is set on playing through a 6L6-powered amp, you’re in luck. This amps comes with EL34 power amp tubes from the factory, but those can be changed to 6L6 tubes. Flick the bias switch, swap the tubes, and you’ve completely changed the character of the amp.
Other gear that was used include a Kramer Baretta Graphics and the Keely Halo Andy Timmons Dual Echo Pedal.
