Certain situations call for certain combinations of gear. With that in mind, we here at zZounds want to share some of our favorite pairings with you. In this edition, we’re pairing up the Korg Prologue 8 and the Electro-Harmonix Canyon pedal for some swirling synth sounds.
Korg Prologue 8
Korg’s new Prologue synthesizers combine that fat analog sound with polyphonic playability and bi-timbral flexibility, creating a recipe for complex, otherworldly sounds. Building on an analog signal path, the Prologue’s performance is keenly augmented with a wide variety of digital effects. Dig into Korg’s 200+ tweakable presets, then customize your own sounds and save your programs, as well as share them with the user community. We used the 8-voice Prologue 8 to create some beefy, vintage sounds.
Electro-Harmonix Canyon
The Electro-Harmonix Canyon delay and looper pedal produces atmospheric soundscapes and rhythmic pulses with ease. Featuring 10 distinct delay styles, as well as a 62-second looping function, the Canyon delivers a larger-than-life sound. Despite bursting at the seams with functionality and versatility, the pedal’s ultra-compact size easily fits on any board. When paired with the Canyon, the Prologue’s synth sounds become more complex and ethereal, perfect for creating shimmering pads or syncopated lead rhythms.
