Perfect Pairings: Warwick German Corvette DB Bass and Eden WTP600 | D410XLT

This month, we’re plugging the Warwick German Corvette Double Buck 5-string bass into the Eden WTP600 World Tour Pro head and D410XLT cabinet for thunderous, yet articulate bass tone.

Warwick German Corvette DB

Warwick German Corvette DB

The Warwick German Corvette Double Buck 5-string bass represents German instrument building at its finest. When we first pulled this bass out of its included, heavy-duty RockCase flight case at the zZounds office, we blown away. From its wenge neck and AAA flamed-maple-topped swamp ash body, to its bronze frets and wenge tuners, the Double Buck covers every detail. It’s one thing to look good, but this Warwick also over-delivers on sound with two passive MEC humbuckers and two 3-way mini switches for separate series, parallel and single-coil configurations for each pickup.

Plug the Corvette Double Buck into the Eden WTP600 World Tour Pro head and matching D410XLT cabinet for a rig combination made in bass heaven. The WTP600 head offers 600W of power at 4 ohms and a bevy of features to make working bassists’ lives easier, like illuminated combination speaker outputs and an onboard studio-quality compressor. The D410XLT cabinet is the ideal mate for the WTP600 head, with a power handling of 700W and four hand-built EC-1060W cast frame speakers. With the cab’s frequency range of 50 Hz to 14 kHz, you’re sure to hear every nuance of the German Corvette Double Buck.

I'm a touring musician who daylights as a Product Merchandiser and Copywriter for all things guitar at zZounds. When I'm not working in Chicago or riding around in a van, you can find me tinkering with gear, hanging out with my dog, or retreating to the woods of my native Michigan.

eden wt800 is my favorite hybrid amp; stereo full range into one or two accu-groove speakers (15+15 or 15+12 versions); and using a late 80 warwick fortress one bass is a truly awesome articulate tone… the ascu-groove speaker is a three-way cross over cab via internal circuitry and basically is an incredibly flat response from very low to very high… they were designed to not color the tone (which is not a bad thing) but a colored tone from a cabinet can mask the true sound of your instrument… ascu-groove speakers are like a huge studio reference monitor! and the clarity and articulation found in the eden tone circuit is remarkable ( got my wt800 used for 750! and again is my favorite go to amp not only for tone but for any volume gig. (i found the wt400 to be under powered for some gigs and jumped at the chance to get the wt800 at such a price; my wt800 has failed only once in over 20 years of use…
