Barcelona – “Fall in Love” at Moog Sound Lab

Ever wonder what a nearly all-Moog rig would sound like? So have we, and we’re happy to announce the answer is thoroughly awesome.

Moog recently invited Barcelona into their Sound Lab to perform their song “Fall in Love” as the latest in their excellent Moog Sound Lab series on YouTube. The series has featured the likes of Phantogram, Surfer Blood, and Deltron 3030, among many others, all re-imagining songs through Moog gear.

In this performance, singer guitarist Brian Fennell wields not only a Moog guitar, but also uses a MF-104 Analog Delay and MF-103 12-Stage Phaser, plus he sings through a 500 series delay and plays a Minimoog Voyager for a little extra bass. Keyboardist Branden Cate works a Sub Phatty along with a Sub 37 analog synth. And for the geek-flavored cherry on top, drummer Rhett Stonelake plays a Roland electronic drum kit controlling six rack-mounted Minimoog Voyagers!

If you’re into electronic-influenced rock, the Sound Lab series is a must. And if you’re into the nitty gritty details on how a monster synth like the Sub 37 operates, the video below should more than satisfy your analog curiosities.
