Gibson just announced the 2018 Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Junior, a new take on the classic single-coil model often associated with the Green Day frontman. With a single ’57 Classic humbucker, master volume and tone controls, and wraparound tailpiece all atop a slab body, this is a stripped-down rocker meant to be a “blank canvas” for young artists. Available in ebony, maraschino cherry, and sonic blue, there’s a finish to suit almost any style, but of course if you want to cover it in stickers, that’s fine too.
The uniquely carved pickguard brings a definite punk style to the model, which is sure to be a hit among longtime Green Day devotees or anyone looking for a no-frills LPJ.
